WTB: 7-passenger Vanagon

We live in NE Grand Rapids. We are looking for a 7-passenger Vanagon. If you have one for sale or know of one for sale please get me some info. Looking for a later vanagon 88-91 but would consider other as long as it's liquid cooled and manual trans. Anyone know what determines 4-speed or 5-speed in a waterboxer van? I've seen both. If you have some buying tips for Vanagon please post.

Syncros and some European models have 5 speeds. Syncros are 4 speeds with a granny gear. Here's a forum that will tell you everything and more about Vanagons.

I got a lead on a local 91 7 pass, it has no rust but is badly faded, Its an automatic, He says it needs a starter and possibly a transmission. Hes only asking $700 OBO for it. If I wasn't leaving soon I would buy it. The guys email is [e-mail]. May be something to consider especially if you can pick it up for $500 or so.
