today (Easter sunday) on my return home to lake orion from our family dinner near charlotte, in my westy, the engine had a problem (not diagnosed as yet but there's oil all over the engine)).....i pulled off the I-69 roadway onto the side. within 10 minutes a burgandy/red westy pulled off in front of me, the driver hopped out and ran towards me...to my incredible surprise and delight, our fearless leader Todd!! even though he had his family with him he stopped to help!! we pulled the engine cover and decided there was nothing we could do right there and AAA towing was the next step.
i can't tell you how happy i was to see a friend at that moment!! VOLKSFOLKS are the best folks on the planet i swear!! THANK YOU so much Todd!! did the police officer that passed me stop? NO.....but a westy on the side of the road was a signal for Todd to stop and offer assistance.
tomorrow "wendy" goes in for repair/diagnosis and hopefully will be fine in time to attend the BBTB campout in may in GR.....where i will have some icy cold beverages for Todd and more heartfelt THANKS!!
i don't expect any responces, but i thought you might enjoy seeing a positive post about one of our leaders and our community in general.
