Our '90 Westie needs a new engine. We are not mechanical and need to hear what you folks would recommend. We've explored several scenarios, and one option that we are looking at is to install an upgraded unit from 'GoWesty'. One of their techies suggested that we look into getting it shipped to a state side address, and having it installed there, thereby avoiding the duty by shipping it into Canada. I would be interested in hearing about any VW shops between Grand Rapids and the border that you would recommend, who could do this install. Or any bus folks capable/ interested in doing the install? We can drive the van over the border and leave it for a period of time. Also, any thoughts on the 'GoWesty' or TiiCo replacements? We value your opinions, having had your expertise get us back on the road after a tow from Flint to the May 2005 campout. Thanks, we look forward to hearing your opinions and Happy New Year. If you find a reliable, trustworthy, honest, understandable and competent place to do the work for you...please let me know. I'm in Angola, IN and need to have a rebuild or replacement for my kid's '85 1.9L waterboxer and I can't seem to find anyone to tackle the project. I'm at the point where I'm ready to throw the thing on e-bay and hope for the best.

Hi Deb and Jon,
We missed you at the past couple events. Hopefully things are going good other than needing a new heart. Brien and I spoke briefly and are interested in helping out. We've done better than a handful over the past couple of years. Can you email me directly so we talk and see if we can be of some help? 84westy@gmail.com We look forward to hearing from you. Billy
