This note is to thank all of the wonderful volks folks who rescued our disabled westie. For those who did not hear, our '90 started started spewing smoke and red lights came on, just outside of Flint on our way to the campground from Canada. Needless to say the garage where we ended up at did not have the parts or expertise to fix us and they were closing up for the weekend. The offer to use their electric outlet for the weekend was appreciated but was just not going to suffice, we had not driven this far to camp at a garage!A call was placed to Todd cell. How relieved to hear that reassuring voice at the other telling us to get to the campground, any way we could and they would fix us up there. What a relief! So the lift tow was called and four hours later, with two golden retrievers in the van on top of the lift tow, we arrived to a gathering of people at the campground ready to push our van into a campsite. And this could only happen with VW folks; everyone pitched in to find a part ( how fortunate Billy had a 2.1 engine apart), to get the cracked coolant distributor part out ( Machine) and the replacment part installed ( too many to name). Not to mention the numerous containers of coolant freely given and manuals brought out to read. Jon really appreciated the on the job training he got, I think he's getting into this mechanic stuff now. How can we express our thanks. So you might wonder how the drive home went, well it was uneventful, the new part worked like a charm. We are home with a great story about how helpful and kind everyone was. It sure was a great way to meet lots of new friends. Thanks from Deb, Jonathan and the golden girls ( Molly & Abbey)
