The creation of Buses By the Beach, Inc.:
This year is especially exciting for us because it is our major growth year. For the last eight years we have been operating as a committee of The Phoenix Society For Burn Survivors under their 501C3 non-profit status. Every year our events have grown exponentially so it has become apparent that in order to continue to grow and to be sustainable we were going to have to formalize our organization and go through the process of incorporating and filing for our own non-profit status with the Federal Government. Our mission has not changed. From the beginning our plan has always been and will always be to cover all expenses by soliciting corporate sponsorships so 100% of the money we raise at our events will be donated to The Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors.
Special thanks go to our team of professionals that gave their time and expertise to help us grow. Thank you goes to Neil Blakeslee (Attorney), Jerry Coon (Accountant), and Ramona Hinton (Insurance) for guiding us through this tenuous process. Being incorporated and having our own 501C3 Non-profit status opens many doors for our organization in terms of applying for Matching Grant Foundations and Charitable Giving Foundations so we can do more good work in the area of helping those individuals whose lives have been forever changed by a major burn injury.
