VIN #: WV2ZB0255FH059082
Mileage: 85,000
Price: $7,000 or best offer
I bought this 1.9L EFI Westfalia camper a little over a year ago from a friend in North Carolina where it had resided since it was new. The van has a brown interior/exterior and contains the full camping suite (stovetop, refrigerator, cabinets, tables, etc.). The pop-top is in good working order and the canvas is intact and in excellent shape -- a rare find on these vehicles. I have not filled the propane tank since owning the vehicle and can’t comment on the working condition of the stove or refrigerator.
Since owning I have upgraded the wheels and tires with the 16" wheel and Michelin Hydroedge tires sold by GoWesty. There is less than 3,000 miles on the tires. I have also installed a two-bike Fiamma bicycle rack from GoWesty and some attractive laminate wood flooring in the main passenger compartment (see photos).
I have the complete service history since purchase and since owning I have had new front brake rotors installed and a full 80,000 mile service completed, including a complete engine tune-up and oil change, new spark plugs, ignition wires and distributor cap, new air/oil/fuel filters and replacement of all belts.
On the exterior there are several minor scratches and imperfections in the paintwork. The rear bumper is not original. There is some rust along the bodywork seam above the LP tank. The fuel tank needs to be resealed and will leak if filled to capacity, GoWesty sells a kit specifically for this task. On the interior of the vehicle, the steering wheel horn panel is broken and the various interior fittings (window cranks, door handles, handbrake cover etc.) show significant cosmetic wear. The horn, door handles and window cranks all work, however. The interior lining of the sliding door is torn/displaced on the inner-right side. The original factory stereo is missing.
All said, I believe this to be an excellent mechanical example of one of the earliest wasserboxers and a great candidate for restoration and/or heavy recreational use. I am selling, sadly, for economic reasons.
