WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
It’s almost time for everyone to be together again at “BUS BOO!” Buses By the Beach annual fall campout an Halloween before Halloween party in Grand Rapids, MI Sept. 15th, 16th & 17th. It looks like we are in for another great turn out of Bus Pilots and VW lovers from all over the country. So bring your musical instruments for some campfire jamin’. Remember, it’s not about sounding good, just feeling good! Also we are still working on the Buses By the Beach Cook Book so if you have a favorite bus camping recipe please bring it along and give it to Jen Olson.
If you have not made reservations yet please call the campground so we can plan for camping space. Call Grand Rogue at 1-616-361-1053 located at 6400 West River Drive, Belmont, MI 49306. Make sure you tell them that you are with Buses By the Beach group so they can group us all together.

Back by popular demand, we are camping during the West Michigan Living History and Educational Association presentation of Early America Encampment at Grand Rogue Campground. Visitors can view first hand what life in early America was like. There will be period craftsmen demonstrating their skills, including a blacksmith and a woodworker. Working with hand tools, they show how everyday implements were made in early America. At the Encampment, history buffs wearing authentic period clothing and living in period shelters, present programs throughout the weekend. Activities will include musket and cannon firing, men's and women's period fashion shows and tactical demonstrations. For more information go to:

*Helpful tips for those coming to “Bus Boo!*
1. Plan for all of your meals except for Saturday night and Sunday morning. Saturday night we are having a Chili Cook off and Sunday morning we are having BBBBBB! (Buses By the Beach Breakfast Burrito Buffet) Raining Chili Cook off Champion Michelle Plichta is up to take on challengers. Please feel free to bring your favorite recipe and enjoy some good food. Or if you would prefer to bring a side dish that would be ok also. Please bring an item or two to donate to the Sunday morning Breakfast Burrito Buffet. Suggested items...tortillas, sausage, eggs, cheese, etc.
2. Alcohol is permitted, obnoxious drunks are not. Let’s have a good time but please be responsible.
3. Saturday night is our annual Halloween before Halloween costume and site decoration contest. Bring a costume, decorate your site and let’s have some fun!
4. Park where ever it makes your VW happy. We do not have to park on designated camping sites. Try to avoid wet or soggy spots. We should be fine because everything has been dry but we want to respect the campground so we will be invited back again.
5. Electricity and water will be very limited. You might get lucky and get a spot next to a hook up. Try to plan for not having hookups so we can save those spots for those that absolutely need it.
6. Please feel free to bring an instrument play. Don’t worry about your ability level. We are not concerned about sounding good, just feeling good!
7. Please do not bring firewood! We do not want to contribute to the spreading the Emerald Ash Borer.
8. Our events are kid friendly and designed for families. Grand Rogue Campground is a very kid friendly campground so feel free to bring bikes or toys for them to play with. We will be located right next to a playground and restrooms.
